Introducing EMDC's Quintessence Elite Competitive Team — where excellence meets passion, and dedication takes centre stage. Comprising our most accomplished and dynamic dancers, this prestigious team represents the pinnacle of our artistic journey. Fuelled by a commitment to precision, innovation, and artistic expression, Quintessence pushes the boundaries of dance to new heights.

Age Group
The team accepts auditions from dancers aged 16 to 25, as well as any gender. Quintessence regroups individuals dancing at an elite competitive level, and should be able to keep up with Level 3 classes.

Older dancers of the Quintessence Elite Team are seen as leaders, and should lead by example.
Competitions
Dancers of the Quintessence Elite Team will participate in 2-4 Canadian dance competitions and conventions every year, depending on their level.
​
Competitions can include, but are not limited to, CanDance, View Dance Challenge, Hit The Floor, Showtime, etc.
Technique & Disciplines
Two main disciplines are available for dancers to chose from. They can chose to audition for one, or both.
​
Multi-Jazz: Dancers in this category have at least 1 Ballet class and 1 Strength & Conditioning class during the week, to refine their technique. Additionally, they will learn 2-3 group routines.
​
Hip-Hop: Dancers in this category have at least 1 Strength & Conditioning class every week, will learn at least 1 group routine, and will have access to workshops with invited choreographers and instructors.

* Each age group has their own weekly schedule, and routines that will be used to compete and in the recital at the end of the season.
Business & Networking Opportunities
Our choreographers & instructors often work on different projects, and collaborate with artists, organizations, etc. As a dancer on the Quintessence Elite Team, you get priority on being picked for these opportunities, and get the chance to establish yourself as a professional dancer.
